Giampiero ha ucciso Cristina con cinquanta coltellate, davanti all’assistente sociale. Cinquanta coltellate sono un oceano di rabbia, un abisso di orrore cieco. Come si fa a uccidere, e così, qualcuno che si è amato, con cui si è condiviso tutto, e messo al mondo due figli? Eppure, la violenza in famiglia non ci stupisce, nemmeno quando è così efferata. Accanto alla condanna, fa capolino una sorta di rassegnazione sociale al fatto che fra le mura di casa - o al centro di un consorzio per le separazioni coniugali, come è capitato ieri a Collegno, vicino a Torino - può succedere, e succede di tutto.

La famiglia è forse oggi più che mai il nostro rifugio. Il luogo dove troviamo quella identità che altrove sembra fare acqua da tutte le parti. E’ la nostra ultima, ma amata spiaggia, dove siamo noi stessi più che mai, negli affetti, nelle nostre potenzialità «creative», nel nostro quotidiano esercizio di umanità.

Però è altrettanto vero che questa famiglia - niente affatto ideale bensì vera, in carne ed ossa - è in crisi. E la frase più comune che si sente dire, quando un matrimonio finisce e un’unione si spezza con inevitabili strascichi di vario genere, la frase più comune che si sente dire a proposito di quel partner che ora sta dall’altra parte del fiume e prima si aveva accanto, è: «Non lo riconosco più», «Non è la stessa donna che ho sposato». E’ un modo per accettare la fine, per scendere a patti con la separazione - che la si sia voluta o subita. Questo disconoscimento del coniuge è però anche e soprattutto l’unica via disponibile per non demolire la famiglia in sé. Non è quella che non ha funzionato, è lui/lei che è diventato un altro.

Forse, la realtà non sta né su una sponda né sull’altra ma, come capita spesso, nel mezzo. Perché è proprio la famiglia, teatro della nostra vita ma anche, e purtroppo non di rado, di violenza e financo di morte, ad avere in sé questo doppio volto. Uno amabile, luminoso, o anche soltanto di accettabile teatro della nostra vita. E l’altro oscuro, inafferrabile. Capace di capovolgersi da un momento all’altro, quando un equilibrio si spezza, un nervo è scoperto. E allora, non è il nostro partner a diventare un’altra persona, terribilmente irriconoscibile, ma la vita stessa. Quelle mura domestiche che sino a un attimo prima erano «casa» e poi diventano inferno. Difficile sapere o anche solo intuire come mai la famiglia abbia in sé questa tremenda potenzialità. Difficile più che mai, come dimostra la morte di Cristina ieri dopo cinquanta coltellate infertele dal marito con cui stava «trattando» una separazione civile, prevedere che questo ti possa capitare per mano della persona con cui hai condiviso tutto, compresa magari la fiducia nella famiglia, per te e per i tuoi figli.
